The company Zegin and the Dr. Verica Mehandziska Foundation, over the past 10 months, have implemented donations and projects worth over 300,000 euros, aimed at supporting vulnerable categories of citizens, with a particular focus on persons with disabilities, individuals with autism, patients, and young people.

Through numerous activities, infrastructure projects, donations, and support for institutions and organizations across the country, Zegin and the Foundation are establishing a new model of social responsibility – a model based on long-term care, inclusion, and systemic support.

As part of the humanitarian race “Zegin Spectraton – a race of heroes in all colors,” three organizations were supported: the association “Inkluziva” for the construction of a creative center for neurodivergent individuals in Kumanovo, “Open the Windows” for supporting parents of children with autism, as well as Special Olympics Macedonia for the implementation of inclusive sports activities.

Investments in healthcare are particularly significant. At the City General Hospital “8 September,” a state-of-the-art hyperbaric chamber worth 140,000 euros was donated, while the Center for Rehabilitation of Verbal Communication Pathology received a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) device worth 20,000 euros, intended to support individuals with autism. Additionally, donations of hospital beds in Tetovo and Shtip have been carried out, along with dental equipment for the Clinic of Dentistry and equipment for the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

The Foundation also invests in services and spaces for children and individuals with autism. In Kichevo and Kochani, sensory and resource rooms have been equipped, while at the Center for Rehabilitation of Verbal Communication Pathology, two early intervention units have been opened. The program for free assessment of autism spectrum disorders has also been supported, covering 70 children and young people.

The campaign “Heroes in All Colors,” implemented across all eight planning regions, opened important topics related to autism, research, and innovation, with more than 1,000 citizens attending the events.

In addition to supporting healthcare and social protection, the Foundation also invests in youth. For the second consecutive year, scholarships are being awarded to students from socially disadvantaged families at the Faculty of Pharmacy at UKIM, with 14 students supported this year through monthly scholarships.

Additionally, support has been provided for the first telephone helpline for palliative care patients and their families, the renovation and equipping of facilities at the Mother and Child Health Institute for the needs of the Department of Psychophysiology at the University Clinic for Children’s Diseases, support for the “Smisla” podcast, as well as a series of individual donations for treatment and assistance to people in difficult life situations.

Through their work, the company Zegin and the Dr. Verica Mehandziska Foundation demonstrate that true social responsibility means continuous investment in people, healthcare, inclusion, and the future of the community.
