This weekend, the big international table tennis tournament – “Zegin Open 2024” will be held in Berovo for the third time. From the 13th to the 15th of September, the small town in Malesheviata will host a major sporting event that has grown into a recognizable tradition.

The matches will be played in the “Macedonian Defenders” Sports Hall in Berovo. A parade of the participating countries is scheduled for Saturday, September 14, and a big concert of the Macedonian music group “Next Time” has been announced for the evening at the “Dimitar Berovski” City Square in Berovo.

This tournament year after year attracts great attention and interest among competitors from all over the world, so, in addition to Macedonia as the host country, this year competitors from Argentina, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Nigeria, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, Turkey will also take part in the tournament. , Ukraine, Greece, Germany, Croatia and Belarus.

A total of 177 competitors will participate in this year’s edition of “Zegin Open 2024”. The categories that will be represented at the tournament are U-13, U-15, U-19, absolute category, veteran categories 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years and the oldest 70+ years in male and female competition.

The prize money for the first place in the absolute category in both men’s and women’s competition is 1,600 euros, and the total prize fund of “Zegin Open 2024” is 12,000 euros.

The Zegin Company and PPK Zegin are the only sponsors and organizers of this tournament, which is the largest tournament of its kind in the Balkans, and every year the competitors leave with great impressions from the excellent atmosphere and professional organization.
