– I work in a company that values ​​hard work and dedication, and thanks to that and my management team, I am in a position where I can express my potential through counseling, recommendations and help to those who need it most, to the patients for whom you are not just an individual but you are everything in the world at the given moment – says Tatjana Manevska, pharmacist at “Zegin Farm” and head of one of the busiest pharmacies in the capital – Bunjakovec…

The first initiating moment that will make you plunge into this profession is the desire and love for it, adds Tatjana.

She got a job at “Zegin Farm” immediately after graduation and has been working there for 11 years. So far, she has not applied for a job in another company. She is kind and cordial, and at the same time ready to answer the questions of those who are behind the pharmacy counter.

– You first bring your desire and love with you, and you get support from your parents. I got a job right after graduation after completing the mandatory six-month internship when I took the necessary work license. When you finish college, you think you are ready for work, that you know everything, so everything seems easy. But it is not so. You come to a path that you know you must walk alone and no one can do it for you. You face a new environment, a new way of communication, you often work with patients, new medicines… And then you realize the point of the sentence that every path to success is difficult and laborious. Yes, mine is too, but I was lucky enough to have my beginnings at the pharmacy in the City Trade Center Skopje. Then the manager there was Aneta Stankovska who taught me how to love my profession, which means communication and kindness with patients…, those are the things you need to know at the beginning – says Manevska.

She perceives the possibility of constant upgrading as an advantage. He likes to work with people, communicate with patients.

– My profession is dynamic in nature. It is not a lesson you can learn and say you know yourself. Every day, with the rapid development of technology, we have new drugs and medical preparations, as well as scientific claims about their effectiveness. That is why it is most important to constantly learn and search for new information that is scientifically proven. You will ask me why I love my profession and what keeps me going all these years? Loyal and satisfied patients are of course in the first place.

The driving force is their energy, which returns to you like a boomerang when one of your nice, kind words had the power to help someone heal – says Manevska.

The right advice is the key link in treatment, which is why she hasn’t stopped researching these 11 years.

Manevska respects honesty and says that she is satisfied that she has an understanding with her colleagues.

– Home upbringing affects what kind of attitude you will have towards work. I saw from my parents that only with hard work and persistence can you achieve the goal you set for yourself. You know what the old people say: Hands from work, and mouth from a kind word, are not eaten. The more you invest or give, the more you will get – he says.

In the business, it is also important that you are not alone, but with a team, she explains, which leads to the goal faster.

A large number of patients in the pharmacy now come with a lot of information, previously read on the Internet. The way of communication with them, explains our interlocutor, is very important.

– I am constantly talking about upgrading knowledge. Patients now read on the Internet, various forums and irrelevant posts for which you do not know if there are clinical studies and evidence. Here is your role as a pharmacist. Each of the patients deserves to receive accurate and scientifically proven information about the use, the dosage method, the possible side effects of the medicine, the additional therapy that will facilitate their lifestyle – she says.

She is a happy mother and wife and has time for both family and work. If you allocate your time correctly, you will achieve everything.

– The length of time spent with my family may be shorter than the time I would have spent if I had not been dedicated to work, but I believe that this time is not a measure of the quality and quantity of love. You cannot say that a mother who is successful in her profession loves her child less than one who is not professionally engaged. It is absurd. With a family and a husband who understands you, your work also works flawlessly. I am an example of that. Everything starts with the family, and children learn from their parents’ example – adds Tatjana.
